Jett had the idea of painting a heron, I followed suit and wanted to paint this night heron amongst the mountains and the trees.

Trees have meant a lot to me this season. When I spend time tracing trees, the forms of the branches remind me of the unpredictablity of life and the directions it takes you. There’s no rules or patterns on how the tree grows, the twist and turns, the surprising angles and breakages. Despite it all it continues to grow towards the light. Its final form as you see it as symbol of maturation and a physical embodiment of a life lived and lessons learned.

The heron dragon is a spiritual figure, that spins its tree with its golden thread, guiding and shaping life’s direction, like a guardian angel or an embodied karma.

I never anticipated to become an artist, or make some sort of living doing this alongside my full time role in tech. I continue to put my trust in God and the universe to show me to the light .
